Even it looks like a game(or Fiesta online) full of 10 yrs old leet kids, after a certain level reputation starts to become important.
So if you are trained, or your rez/buff request are ignored don't ask why... is because you was an arse some levels or some minutes ago. To avoid that, learn how to behave.
Don't spam. Period. If you are shouting and your message is the only one in the chat screen, you WILL be blocked. If a cleric blocks you, will not be able to see your buff/rez requests => no buffs / heals / rez for you. Blocking is permanent, there is NO WAY to unblock someone, so be sure you have good reasons to spam.
Don't KS. KS stands for kill steal. That means if you see people fighting with monsters, and you are not a cleric - so you can't heal - don't try to "help" and fight. Maybe the player fighting have a quest, maybe they want to take a free ride to the next town, maybe they are just dumb and are trying to bite more than they can chew. Is NOT your business to be their knight in shinny armor riding a white horse. If you are not in party with them, let em play in their own way. You are not helping someone who wasted 10 hp pots to kill his monster and take credit for it. The next thing you can aspect is to see the person you "helped", flying on his mover, gathering all the aggros around and training them on you.
Don't try to cheat people. A bad name is spreaded easier than a good name. Most people will even shout the names of scammers in central area in Elderine. Of course, you can anytime transfer the items/money on a "clean" character and delete de "dirty" one, but your really want to see AGAIN the Forest of Tides, Sandy Beach and Forest of Mist? Especially when you KNOW how is life at 30+?
Wear updated equipment. A cleric will know if you take too much damage for your level. People will see you are lev 30+ and you are *still* wearing the boots / shield / armor from level 10. Will not team with you anymore. You will be kicked from teams. And you NEED teams for certain quests or monsters.
Know your role in team. A fighter tanks, a cleric heals, a mage deals raw damage, etc. If you are a mage and think you can tank... good luck, do it solo. If you are a cleric and you think you can tank and keep aggro AND heal the team for ocassional adds... good luck, you are a tanking god... do it alone. If you are fighter, and you can't keep aggro away from healer... why don't you go back at minesweeper? Do your job in team and let the team members do theirs.
Don't show off. People gets bored of jerks too full of themselves. If you start to brag "I have 3 toons lv X (read 55+) and each have 800s and full +9 eq" the chances to be labeled liar are very high. Also the chances to get blocked/kicked from party. Even you really have em... don't talk about them.
Don't try to steal other people work. If you are in mines and a party or a higher level come and cleans the path, don't start mining the ore they just made available, unless you are told to do so. If you can't kill the monsters in that mine, try mining where are no aggros. Stay somewhere where you belong to. Being a smart ass with a high level will only net your trouble, believe me.
Clerics are not your slaves. They are keeping you and the party alive, and they can solo very well almost anything. They are in a party because are bored, they don't want to level too fast, or they just want to help people. Don't make the mistake to think that they depend on party to level or survive like in other games. They can leave party any moment and do fine without you. Give them the respect they deserve.
Use free alocation only when a party member needs certain drops. More than that, healers or mages or archers are using potions and stones too.. they need the loot as much as you do. So unless you need a specific drop from the monsters, use selective alocation. If you don't you might find yourself without party and blocked in a room full of reds.
This game is in BETA stage. There are bugs, exploits, bots and the list can go on. Don't use the exploits, that's cheating and is also against the EULA you agreed when you made the game account. You might find your toons deleted for that.
You have 2 computers and you have an account on each computer? Fine, group with yourself and ... hmm... play with yourself. But don't do that when you are in party with other people, and especially not when you do KQ.
After a good KQ where you did your job perfectly (you was a good tank, a good healer, a good DD/puller) you will get lots of "add in friend list" invitations. People likes the good players and is allways usefull to know someone who knows his job 100%. Try to not refuse those invitations... are like a tribute to your skills and refusing will make the person to feel bad.
Despite of general belief, power leveling is NOT making you a better player. It only adds XX levels under your belt and you might find yourself at 40+ with no money, no fame, no reputation among players and more important no clue of what you are supposed to do with your character. It ruins the fun for you and for your *presumptive* team mates. (credit for suggestion: AnnisTheMad)
Not everyone plays the game for making friends. Not everyone wants "friendly" or "friend seeker" or "celebrity" titile. So if someone rejected your invitation to add him as friend, do not try that again and again and again. The person might block you. (credit for suggestion: Gravvi)
If you think that is more polite to get in team with someone who's crowded / cornered before you help him in order to no KS... you are wrong. Well... is kinda tricky here. If you see someone attacked by 5 mobs, he sure is having a hard time, trying to survive, focusing on timing the heals/potions/stones/attacks. If the party invite pops on the screen he might lose 1 precious second reading it then rejecting/accepting it. The result? You did not helped at all. If you are cleric, throw heals on him. If not... use your common sense. (credit for suggestion: Gravvi)
If you feel the urge to use other language than english, use whisper. Public channels are for english. For people who does not understand your language is just more spam... so you have a big chance to be blocked.
