原创 HDMI与DisplayPort之战中，新DisplayPort转VGA接口解决方案

DisplayPort是既HDMI后的新接口技术，现与HDMI竞争激烈，两种都以成为国际上主流的下一代接口技术。DisplayPort在技术上拥有很大的优势，包括减小接口体积，简化电路设计，降低成本，低功耗等方面。据Instat预测，在未来的4年以内，带有DisplayPort接口的产品数量将以每年243%的速度增长。
DisplayPort标准支持单条数据链路高达2.7Gbps的传输速率，总共4条数据链路可达到单条线缆10.8Gbps的传输速率。同时，DisplayPort技术可以支持高达WQXGA[分辨率2560x1600]像素的显示器。DisplayPort采用微封包传输技术，可以为未来的新应用进行扩展。DisplayPort双向的辅助通道提供了源端设备和接收端设备之间的信息反馈，实现了信号的预加重和自动调整等功能。其Direct-Drive模式可以免去显示器中的Scaling电路进一步降低成本。此外，DisplayPort是可升级的开放标准，VESA对此不限制使用领域，这也是DisplayPort的优势之一。
最近，Analogix要推出一款DisplayPort转VGA的芯片 - ANX9832。它是一款低功耗，超小封装体积的DisplayPort转VGA转换器。使得带有DisplayPort接口的台式机和笔记本电脑可以轻松地与VGA显示器和投影仪互联。ANX9832符合DisplayPort规范1.1a版本，并可与单模或双模的DisplayPort发送芯片工作，实现DisplayPort信号到VGA信号的转换。此芯片的通常工作功耗在400mW以下，其VGA信号输出像素时钟频率高达178MHz。另外，此芯片无需外接ESD设备，支持5V的电压输出，还支持1.2V和3.3V电压。ANX9832中还应用了Analogix专有的WideEye™设计结构，为此芯片提供了更高的性能和更广泛的兼容性。ANX9832封装规格为48-pin QFN，并将于2009年第二季度量产。

The ANX9832 supports DisplayPort input and VGA output, providing a cost-effective method of sending digital display content to end users. Data is transported at Reduced Bit Rate(RBR) or High Bit Rate(HBR) over 2-lane DisplayPort main link.

ANX9832’s VGA can output pixel clock frequency up to 178MHz, and 24 bit-per-pixel (or 8 bit-per-color). Note that the actual supported video format is limited by DisplayPort input bandwidth.
