now he wasn’t so sure. Computers had completely trashed other careers that used
to require experts: graphic art, music, animation… anyone with a few bucks could
get a program and do a mediocre job. And lots of people were satisfied with
mediocre because it’s cheap. And so the skilled people found themselves
competing with fresh-out-of-college minimum-wage newbies by the dozens. It
wasn’t a career anymore, it was just mass labor. Pushing a mouse....His job was safe. Maybe this would be useful for saving some time, but he was
far from being replaced.
