At the time, the breastfeeding rate in the United States was only around 20%. These friends decided to start offering information and counsel to mothers, to help them overcome breastfeeding difficulties and sort through the differnba jerseysent advice they were receiving. That small group is now La Leche League International, an organization that reaches millions of women in 69 countries all over the globe. Their mission? How Does La Leche League International Promote Breastfeeding? lv LLLI holds conferences with experts, publishes books and information pamphlets, counsels new mothers through local meetings, trains lactation consultants and peer counselors, offers continuing education courses that are accredited by the American Medical Association, and collaborates with political and medical organizations all over the world to improve breastfeeding rates and thus improve the health of infants and children. LLLI publishes 35 books, such as the book The louis vuittonWomanly Art of Breastfeeding, first printed in 1958, and Bright Beginnings, a bi-monthly magazine filled with mother-to-mother advice and encouragement. They established the Center for Breastfeeding Information (CBI) which currently contains over 40,000 research studies.
