看到文档中的一句话：

SkyTraq is a fabless semiconductor company, which develops GPS chipset for consumer navigation and tracking applications.

能大致理解出fabless semiconductor company的含义：无晶圆生产的半导体厂家。但这个fabless是如何来的？其他的商务模式专有词又该如何讲呢？

google查找了一下，基本汇总如下：

IDM     integrated device manufacturer  集成设备制造商，含有设计、制造，一般公司比较庞大，利润率较高，如Intel, Samsung等。

foundry  代工厂，如台积电，TMSC等，一般主要负责工艺革新。

Fabless   无晶圆半导体设计厂家，

先看看这段文字：

Manufacturers of semiconductors can either build and run their own manufacturing plants or design chips that are manufactured by someone else. A fab is a facility that produces its own silicon wafers. A fabless facility is one that outsources the production of silicon wafers. Fabless companies focus on the design and development of their products.

这里，Manufacturer 即IDM，集成设备制造商；

fab 是fabrication的缩写，装配、制造的意思。
