One of the observations made during the question and answer period was that, unfortunately, the unintended consequence of the introduction of Hardware Description Languages (HDL) has been that universities have produced a generation of designers that are computer scientists skilled in describing circuitry at a higher level of abstraction almost as if programming instead of designing. These engineers have no knowledge or appreciation for the physics of devices. Professor Murmann stated that Stanford has acknowledged the error and is modifying the curriculum in order to provide its graduates with the knowledge required by today's designs.
riple
riple
