原创 Lattice comes up with another funny video

I salute the men and women at Lattice Semiconductor for coming up with these funny videos that make you laugh while still being informative.

Who could forget the funny "Pitchman" take-off where the guy sells us on all of the benefits associated with Lattice's MachX02 PLDs? (Click here to see that video.)

And I'm still laughing at the follow-on "Huston, we have a pickle" video in which they used one of their programmable Power Manager II devices to provide a countdown display using miniature dill pickles as organic LEDs (OLEDs). This demonstration was said to be performed "By trained professionals under strict safety supervision with a real fire extinguisher nearby!" (Click here to see that video.)

The great thing about all of these little rascals (the videos, not the guys and gals at Lattice) is that you just don't know what to expect. For example, the latest offering involves the Lattice Jamz performing a little number titled No sleep 'till deadline.

As you'll see, a marketing manager comes in at the last moment demanding that his latest changes be incorporated into a product that's poised to ship. So our hero dons his white lab coat, puts on his FPGA "Bling Rings" and safety glasses, and calls his friend. The two of them then stroll through the building jamming and singing and dancing while they sort out the problem using ECP3 FPGAs.

Actually, the lyrics are really rather good, with lines like "The fly speed that you need for the DDR3..."

And I just received a big personal surprise. At the 1 minute 13 second mark I almost fell off my chair when there was a guest appearance from the cover of my book: EDA where electronics begins. Wait 'till I show my mom – she'll be so proud :-)
