Dobkin Mineo Yamatake December 1978 Abstract An op amp and voltage reference capable of single supply operation down to 1.1V is introduced. Performance is uncompromised and compares favorably with standard, state-of-the-art devices. In a departure from conventional approaches, the circuit can operate in a floating mode, powered by residual voltages, independent of fixed supplies. A brief description of the IC design is given, but emphasis is on applications. Examples are given for a variety of remote comparators and two-wire transmitters for analog signals.
