odern high-performance RF (radio frequency + microwave) filters are widely used in communication and radar transmitter systems, where there are demands for the estimation of power-handling capabilities. Since increasing transmitter power levels is the simplest way to boost system range and capability, based on developments in the last decade one can only predict that future systems will require designs with even higher power levels. Typical hardware examples include satellite output filters and multiplexers, wireless or radio base station transmitter filters and diplexers, and transmitter filters in radar systems.
