Introduction
In the electronics industry the need for EMC software is extremely varied, ranging from board level analysis tools such as 2D field solvers to equipment and system level tools. It is mainly at the board level that the ability to simulate electromagnetic behaviour meets the user’s needs. Equipment or system level simulation is generally provided by extreme levels of model abstraction, and workstation levels of computing power, or by more representative models using supercomputer or Massively Parallel Processing, MPP, hardware.
