RF Transmitter Architectures for Integrated Wireless Transceivers

Summary
Several transmitter architectures for wireless systems are discussed. Among them, the two-step architecture, direct-conversion, offset modulator and modulation loop. Examples of architectures for TDMNCDMA systems are given. Finally, a design case for GSMIDCSI *PCSapplication is shown using 0.6 pm BiCMOS technology. much easier. This process is called single sideband (SSB) up conversion. In the GSM system, the unwanted sideband must be rejected by over 35 dBc.
