What’s an RTC?
A real time clock (RTC) is a micropower real-time
clock/calendar. This device has a back-up power supply to
function even when a system is off. It is separate from the
CPU clock, freeing the system clock for other vital functions.
RTCs are included in every electronic device that keeps
track of time.
