Many high-speed applications require more than just the ability to run point-to-point or from one driver to multiple receivers. Multiple driver(s) and/or receiver(s) on one interconnect is an efficient and common bus application. This requires a double termination of the interconnect to properly terminate the signal at both ends of the bus. Multipoint configurations offer an efficient balance between interconnect density and throughput.
