As the core force driving scientific and technological progress and social development, engineers play a key role in various fields. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the current situation of engineers in the workplace, this survey covered engineers from different industries and with different experience levels. Through questionnaires and interviews, a large amount of first-hand data was collected, aiming to comprehensively present the workplace ecology of engineers.
1. Basic information of the engineering group
Industry distribution : The survey results show that engineers are widely distributed in multiple industries, with the manufacturing industry accounting for the highest proportion, reaching 90%, followed by information technology, electronic communications, energy and other industries. Engineers in different industries have certain differences in work content, technical requirements and career development paths.
Age and experience : The majority of engineers are young and middle-aged, with engineers aged 30-45 accounting for 70%. In terms of work experience, engineers with 5-10 years of work experience account for the highest proportion, at 80% . These engineers usually have accumulated certain professional knowledge and practical experience in their respective fields and become the technical backbone of the company.
2. Current work status
Working hours and intensity : Most engineers said that their work intensity is high, with 80% working more than 40 hours per week. Overtime is common during the project breakthrough phase or product delivery period. High-intensity work brings certain pressure to engineers, but it also prompts them to continuously improve their work efficiency and problem-solving ability.
Job content and responsibilities : Engineers have a wide range of job content, including product design, R&D, testing, project management, technical support, etc. Engineers in different industries and positions have different job focuses. For example, software engineers are mainly responsible for code writing and program development, while mechanical engineers focus on mechanical structure design and manufacturing process optimization.
